Well hello ECLECHICKS, your living space called and it’s a little jealous. It wants color too! So I’m gracing you with POPS of COLOR for your home focusing on four different ways to enhance any room with some simple and chic color additions! So tag along and don’t be scared COLOR is fun, COLOR sets the mood, and most of all COLOR shows your personality! What colors do you gravitate to? Bright and vibrant, soft and neutral, or earthy and rich? Whatever tickles your fancy, my tips are applicable to any palette you’d like to use.
First up is a room with vibrant shades of pink. Shown in various furnishings and textures, we see that having key pieces (nightstand, shelf and bedding) in your main color blends harmoniously with hues that have a similar undertone. In this case the orange shelf, purple shelf and purple ladder mesh well with the bold pink. Play around with it, think of the color blocking trend, and apply that concept to your home!
Next up is a neutral room (walls, windows, floor) with two bold colors sprinkled in. You can opt for one or two (as pictured) eye-catching tones, by throwing in some accent pillows, a unique chair and/or a playful window treatment. Electrify a clean palette with vibrance and turn your room into a new space by adding your personal touch! This option is easy for any first timer wanting to flirt with COLOR!
This right here is one of my favorite ways to showcase color in a home, especially if you’re bold!!! What we have here is your everyday room, with a twist. The accent wall serves as the pop of color, exuberant and refreshing, you should never have a dull or depressed day when you walk into your room. To me it screams, “I’m Home!” An abundance of warmth and happiness! Did you notice how everything else is fairly calm? That ebb and flow aids in delivering a perfect balance of bold and and peaceful.
Last and definitely not least is another favorite of mine; inspiration piece. The picture in the room is simple and white with hints of blue, but look closely, see how the designer pulled elements from the painting and exhibited it throughout the room. So clean but yet so fresh and fun! Very easy, especially after you’ve found a colorful focal point, you can pull from there, adding dashes of that color throughout.
Well I hope you enjoyed our interior journey on POPS of COLOR! Play around with colors that have the same undertones, throw in some accent pillows, paint up an accent wall or draw inspiration from a painting. If you were timid before on how to address a space and make it your own, my 4 tips will surely open your world to endless possibilities!!!
xx Teko
Ooooh, I especially love the last two rooms. I really like the idea of a colored wall, I'm just not sure I wouldn't get tired of looking at it.
I've been all about interior decorating and looking for inspiration as I ready to makeover over my living quarters… I agree with Channing, love the last two rooms as well… probably because the color scheme of both is what i already have going on in my bedroom and livingroom… lol
