In January, Rachel Roy confided in WWD (Womens Wear Daily) details about her newest fashion/style endeavor, shoes. Sneak peek images were released and anticipation began to build. Personally, Rachel’s style is amongst my top 10 inspirations when I think of what influences my day-to-day wear. Her aesthetic is clean and chic sprinkled with the perfect amount of edge. She sky-rocketed color blocking to the top of every style admirer’s list with hue combinations that had never been thought of until they were seen on Rachel and we must not forget about her keen sense of stacking massive amounts of jewelry in the most delicate way.
Rachel’s style is undeniable! So I waited, just like most Rachel admirers for her shoe collection to drop, and the day has arrived. Which made me travel back to her initial shoe announcement where she stated, “I don’t want shoes unless they are strong and sexy. Rachel delivered a strong shoe collection! Providing an assortment of calf-enhancing heels, winter ready boots and boyfriend borrowed oxfords. My personal favorites include: Gardner, Corine and Beenana; I’ve been looking for the perfect pair of motorcycle style boots and it looks like Rachel was in my head, Corine is just what I wanted.
