Isn’t it funny how you come across things? After being bummed about the lack of creative juice and the possibility of not posting anything, I went on, what seems to be a ritual, internet browsing at night. A clip from the Today Show with Iris Apfel appeared on my laptop screen and my curiosity got the best of me. Since I adore Iris (see previous post mentioning my unabashed love for her here), I watched the clip and got wind of her latest venture. *Bing* A new post was born!
Iris, the self-proclaimed oldest living teenager, is Dazed magazine’s November cover girl!

She’s been a keynote speaker at several fashion/style conferences, appeared in Bill Cunningham’s phenomenal documentary, serves as a muse for Ari Seth Cohen’s “Advance Style” book, released Rara Avis by Iris Apfel, a jewelry line sold exclusively on HSN and had a makeup collection with MAC! The stylish, free-spirited 91-year old has skyrocketed to the top and is still whizzing ahead with a documentary in the making. So it’s only right that the oldest living teenager be featured on Dazed’s November Issue, properly titled The New Aesthetic. Her signature frames and eclectic jewelry intertwine effortlessy with the 2-D creations of Comme des Garçons, view the spread below.
