Not too long ago, one of my twitpals asked me about the unwritten “No Wearing White” rule after Labor Day. I told my lovely style fanatic that wearing white after Labor Day was a MAJOR do, just stay away from lighter fabrics (linen) since that material is traditionally a warm-weather fabric.
Unsure of its origin, a decree of sorts was passed around deeming it unsightly to wear white after Labor Day. People obeyed and no white was worn, that is until recently. People have been breaking tons of unwritten fashion/style rules, the “No Wearing White” can be stashed in that pile too.
Solange has been sashaying around Milan, showing everyone that it is perfectly fine to wear white after Labor Day. Notorious for bucking the system and coupling prints and colors that most people would scoff at, she gracefully embraces those characteristics and delivers effortless poise time and time again. Get into Solange’s White Out below.
In full-on Solange aura, she stuns at the amfAR Milano Dinner in an all white, ankle sweeping, backless Rubin Singer gown.
Accented with gold bangles, a red pout and voluminous fro; Solange looks incredible!
The White Out continues, this time sporting an urban-rocker look from the SS 2013 Just Cavalli collection to the Just Cavalli after party.
Looking good Solange, looking good. I’m a sucker for motorcycle jackets, and this one is divine; the cut, length and oversized silhouette creates an unexpected cool, laid-back vibe normally not associated with the grungy hardcore aesthetic. How about those shocking orange pumps?! The blade pump by Casadei comes in array of colors (nudes to basic black); a classic staple with a bit of punch!
Toss the outdated “No Wearing White” rule after Labor Day out of the window and have a White Out ala Solange. What’s your stance on fashion rules; follow the leader or meant to be broken?
