Project LV: Scotch Naturals Nail Lacquer

Now you know I couldn’t go all the way to Vegas without sniffing out some nail polish! Imagine the joy that came over my little lacquer loving heart when I was introduced to Ginny Cardenas, Founder & CEO of Scotch Naturals. You’re probably wondering what Scotch Naturals is; right?

Well it’s a solvent free, non-toxic water-based nail lacquer. The wave of eco-friendly, good for the body, mind and environment products as well as a way of life has had typhoon-like coverage. They’re everywhere, but not every product is the same. Which is where Ginny comes in, she started with a kid friendly, non-toxic polish that you’ve probably heard of; Hopscotch and took the kid-safe lacquer world by storm. But what about the grown-ups? We want polish too! VOILA, Scotch was brewed, distilled and now, made available to you.

Ginny revealed that she came up with the name after talking to her husband; she felt like sometimes as a mom, an escape is needed but in a non-alcoholic way, plus women love a little pampering too. Aha moment! Why not have a little Scotch…on your tips?

Falling right in line with the Scotch theme, each lacquer’s name is associated with a beverage that has Scotch as one of its main ingredients: Paisley Martini, Queen of Scots, Celtic Mix, Smugglers Gold; just to name a few. Me being a self proclaimed nail polish connoisseur, I had to view the entire collection.

From shocking neons, to robust jewel tones, to creamy pastels and muted neutrals; Scotch Naturals has a hefty color catalog. The only thing that can be a cause for concern is the ease of use when it comes to one of my loves, nail art. Ginny explained that since the colors are water-based, they might not hold up too well in the nail art world. But combined with the specially formulated, super-good-for-your-nails top & base coats, the colors are fabulous!

Ginny also created a Soy based nail polish remover, safe for her line of polishes as well as any other brand. She stated that this polish remover doesn’t dry out nails like most removers tend to do. I can’t wait to try my colors out, review coming soon. What do you think? Will you give Scotch Naturals a dip on your fingertips?

Special thank you to Ginny and Barbie, you ladies were so kind.

  1. iDig the name and the bottle! Looks fancy ;) I’d be interested in using the soy based remover because with using bold nail colors, nail art, and glitter my bare nails tend to get dried out with regular removers. I’ll be looking forward to your review and I can’t help but think Hot Toddy resembles one of my favorite colors- OPI You Don’t Know Jacques.

I’m considering using that polish remover too, Ginny sold me on it; my nails tend to get dry & brittle since I change up my colors almost every week. Let me know if you try it.
