Hey nail polish and nail art lovers! Here I am testing out a new polish technology, hologram nail lacquer. Doesn’t that sound so futuristic? We’re talking next level “The Fifth Element” type of stuff! I still want this…
If you know what that is without me telling you, then we are friends! If not, well… we’re still cool. Taken from the movie, “The Fifth Element” the administrative assistant had a little invention that allowed her to remove and change her nail lacquer by inserting her finger in the black machine! Alright nail companies, get on it.
Now back to the hologram. So, I’ve been wanting to try a hologram lacquer since my eyes came across a Chanel lacquer that has long since been discontinued (hint, hint Chanel) low and behold Layla Cosmetics showed up on my radar. Layla Cosmetics is an Italian based beauty company that specializes in some of the best nail polish/nail art innovations. They have magnetic, caviar, graffiti, mirror, sooooo many. Their Hologram Effects created instant heart palpitations with a myriad of colors.
Since my favorite color is purple, I went with 04 – Ultra Violet and I’m happy about that selection.
After my pre-polish prep (get the deets on how I prepare my nails before applying polish here ). I got my bottle along with the nail file that’s specifically for the Hologram polish (sold separately) and got down to business. The bottle and the nail file (packaging) have directions on how to apply and use the nail file, so you really can’t mess up.
Ok, I know, enough with my blabbing, you want to see the nails! I was AMAZED.
*Note: First 3 pictures include flash in order to showcase the hologram effect.*
I really love this lacquer! Like I said before, amazing, the flash is how it looks naturally. Since cameras are so fickle, it was hard capturing the full effect without a flash. Here’s what my nails look like without a flash.
What do you think? Want to get the Hologram Effect? Cop a bottle or two here for $15.50 a pop. Mercury Twilight has my name written all over it!
