Shhhhh. Do you hear that? It’s the sound of summer putting in her resignation and getting ready for her exit interview. Yes she’s leaving us, and as much as we would love to hold on to her, she must go. But on the positive side, we get to stock up on all our favorite summer trends by shopping all the end-of-season sales—the best part! While we fashion types love the drama that is fall/winter, passing up a great sale just isn’t an option. So luckily for us, we can still work those summer trends now, and with a few styling adjustments, later create stellar looks. So before the big fall shopping frenzy begin, let’s grab a few more of our favorite summer trends for a last hurrah. Here are three of my favorites I plan to wear now and later.
Colored Denim/Pants:
Brightly colored denim and pants were and still are a huge hit this season. Considering we all just can’t enough of tasting the rainbow, let’s keep the prismatic trend going.
Now: Continue to pair your bold denims with equally shocking hues for a striking color-blocked ensemble. Natural wedges or sandals will surely keep your look perfectly in-tuned.
Later: Still as a great source of color, incorporate some of fall’s deep and darker tones for a subtler impact. A neutral ankle bootie will give your look the perfect casual edge as you transition to fall.
Floral Print Dresses:
We’ve been twirling in the garden of enchanting flowers all summer. From flirty prints of lilies, to bold romantic images of roses—allow them to continue blossoming for fall.
Now: Floral print dresses are great summer go-tos. Effortlessly chic, all you need to do is grab a pair of sandals, a light cardigan, a totebag and head out for a fun day of shopping.
Later: Keep it flirty with a bit of downtown flavor for the perfect fashion induced juxapostion. A floral dress, a leather biker jacket, black tights, and a killer spiked boot merges for an ideal soft and hard look.
Sheer Tops:
Embracing our more romantic sides, we’ve managed to incorporate the barely there, sometimes hard to wear chiffon fabric into our summer wardrobes. While the fabric’s light and airiness is perfect for the warm heat, layering possibilities make these tops great outfit puzzle pieces.
Now: Still warm enough, a sheer top worn only with proper undergarments is ideal. Pair your chiffon top with a high-waist trouser for a sexy summer night out.
Later: As the temperature drops, sheer chiffon tops are great for adding a little unexpected texture to your strategic layering. Peeking under chunky knits, and wool jackets—chiffon tops will keep the romance going deep into the fall season.
