Fall is almost here which means our wardrobe as well as footwear will undergo a major shift. Sayonara sandals; hello booties, oxfords and knee boots. Hopefully, your shoe arsenal is armed with the essentials: versatile black pumps, sexy leather boots (black or brown), a reliable flat style, sneakers and some all-weather boots. But no shoe trove is complete without a dash of fun, when I say fun, I mean, precious metals, gemstones and textures—3 shoe characteristics that are hot on the scene for Fall and Winter. What are these delightful shoe dreams I’m speaking of? Find out below.
Precious Metals – Gold, silver, copper, rose gold; the metallic and shiny tones. You know, derivatives of the Ag and Au from The Periodic Table (yes we learn things on eclechick), are hot for the Fall and Winter. Stiletto boots, oxfords and sneakers; you really can’t go wrong. Here are a few of my favorite precious metal silhouettes.
Next up are deep hues that are cut for cold temps.
Gemstones – Ruby, Amethyst, Sapphire; vibrant, rich and robust. I’ve noticed an influx of of gemstone hues in footwear for the upcoming season. Check out my favorite silhouettes below.
Last but not least is one of my favorite characteristics because I LOVE impractical shoes!
Textures – Velvet, textured leather, fringe; bring it on. What’s a shoe collection without a little texture? BORING! Embrace the impractical, only wear when no precipitation of any kind is called for in the forecast shoe. Here are just a few of my favorite textured shoes for the upcoming season.
That rounds out my Fall Shoe Trend report. So will you get a little Au or Ag for your feet or opt for gemstone hues? Don’t forget to texturize; invite a little fringe or velvet in! I don’t know about you, but I’m ready to prance around in all three after seeing the cornucopia of styles doled out by designers.
