Blue Clues – A Makeup Trend to Try NOW

If you watched the 2012 Billboard Music Awards or had a connection to any form of social media, I’m sure you caught a glimpse or heard about how amazing Brandy looked. She was stunning from the top of her curly tousled tresses to her glitzy metallic stilettos; a 10 all around. But what grabbed my attention was her blue eye makeup.

For some reason I’ve become obsessed with this sultry hue and it seems like the makeup world loves it too! Eye spied it in mascara…

and eye shadow.

Popping up in blue variations, surely a clue that we need to be blue, in a good way! There are a ton of blue hued makeup options available; one of my favorites thus far has been nail lacquer. From shocking electric blue to powdery sky blue, you really can’t go wrong choosing a lacquer. These four lacquers below are my top blue hues for summer.

Clockwise: Kutki – NARS, I Know What Boys Like – deborah lippmann, Koliary – NARS and Baker Street – nails inc.. I’ve tried Kutki, Koliary and Baker Street and the color is true to the bottle. I love deborah lippman, so I’m sure that lacquer is amazing too.

My next favorite, that I haven’t tried yet, but will be soon is blue mascara. Taking a note from the 80′s, batting blue lashes are making a comeback and I want in! Not too long ago we had an eclechick huddle on facebook and deemed this look as a major do! Since that chat, my mission to find the most stunning blue mascara has been at the top of my want-it-need-it-now list. Which led me to

I stumbled upon a review of Yves Saint Laurent Mascara Volume Effet Faux Cils Waterproof in Nº 4 Bleu Majorelle and was impressed, read it here. No word on the Guerlain Emilio Pucci mascara, but I’m guessing it will be great too, Guerlain churns out amazing mascara. Now if I could only decide on which one I want!

Last, but definitely not least is blue eye shadow. So, I’ve never been a huge eye shadow type of girl, but Brandy’s blue lids looked amazing last night! I set out to find some noteworthy eye-catching blue eye shadows and stumbled upon two from cosmetic brands that I’ve tried and loved.
