During one of my internet perusals, I came across the image shown above. I really loved how the chambray and/or denim shirt complemented the brushstroke skirt, which led me to post it on the eclechick Facebook page with the caption: “And I aaaaaaaam telling you, chambray/denim shirts aren’t going anywhere! They’re so versatile. Get one, you’ll love it. I promise.” I admit it, chambray and denim shirts are my thing! Their versatility and comfortable style falls right in line with my wardrobe, plus they’re reasonably priced; classic staples indeed. This time around, Dewaynia wanted to know where she could purchase one. VOILA! A post was born. I found a couple of styles at different price points that Dewaynia and you, yes, you will love, plus I did a bit of “styling” with a few of the upcoming season’s hottest trends to showcase its versatility. Enjoy!
Fashion magazines, blogs, creative directors and billboards have been pumping leather, oxblood hues, prints and fun colors into our style arteries lately and personally, I can’t get enough of it. Couple your denim and/or chambray shirt with oxblood leather skinnies or a pleated leather skirt to deliver a downtown vibe that’s smart yet relaxed. Perhaps leather isn’t your thing, you can opt for printed trousers or even a floral skirt, dressing the versatile garment up or down with the change of the bottom half. Throw in a dash of color via a clutch or add some edge to the somewhat conservative staple via jewelry to add more personality to your look.
You’ve got some ideas of how to rock your chambray or denim shirt, but you don’t have the key item, the shirt. No worries, I corralled a few with different fades and cuts, some even have a bit of embellishment…
1. Medium Blue Denim Shirt
2. Denim Boyshirt (Personal favorite, I own one.)
3. Denim Shirt
4. Perfect Chambray Ex-Boyfriend Shirt
5. Denim Shirt w/Gold Studs
6. Western Jean Shirt
7. Collarless Denim Shirt w/Stud Pocket
8. Perfect Chambray Ex-Boyfriend Shirt
9. Relaxed Denim Shirt
Those are my top picks for denim and chambray shirts. But before I go, here’s another look with the classic staple that I absolutely adore…
It looks great with cheetah/leopard! Come to think of it, try denim with chambray or denim with denim, my style crystal ball tells me that it will look dope too.
So will you add my favorite to your wardrobe arsenal or is it already a part of it?
